The Vestry Covenant
The members of the Vestry are my sisters and brothers in Christ. It is within that context that we work to build and sustain our love, respect, and trust in one another.
We pledge to offer our best counsel in our deliberations, to set aside our personal agendas, and to embrace the diversity of our opinions with patience and love in Christ.
We commit to exercising our roles as members of the Vestry in compliance with the bylaws of St. Michael’s, the Constitution and Canons of the Diocese of Los Angeles, and the Constitution and Canons of The Episcopal Church.
We commit to honor the confidences entrusted to us, to build consensus toward unanimous decisions wherever possible, and to support our collective decisions with one voice.
We commit our time, talent and treasure to the generous support of the parishioners, clergy, staff, and ministries of St. Michael’s.
We commit to serving as ambassadors and examples of stewardship at St. Michael’s and to making our pledges at the beginning of each year’s Stewardship Campaign.
We commit to making our presence at the meetings of the Vestry and Vestry committees a high priority.
We commit ourselves to regular attendance and availability to parishioners at services and parish events.
We commit ourselves to reviewing and reaffirming this covenant annually.
