A Note from Our New Rector
Dear Friends in Christ,
What a wonderful experience we shared in church this past Sunday! It was a great joy and honor to celebrate with you, for the first time as your (no longer interim) Rector.
I’m so very grateful to the Vestry for calling me to serve as your Rector, and to Bishop Taylor and Bishop Bruce for their support. And I am so thankful for everyone here at St. Michael’s. From my very first day with you in July of 2017, I’ve been experiencing the faith, warmth and generosity of this community. Any priest would indeed be blessed to have the opportunity to serve as your Rector – and I have the great gift and privilege of being that priest!
I’m also keenly aware that a great deal of hard and joyful work awaits us. In the past sixteen months, we’ve made exciting progress. But we have only barely begun to discern together what God is calling us to be and do. I continue to be confident that God has much in store for us, and many blessings for us along the way.
Our community’s sense of energy and commitment to God and to one another is growing. Our common faith is strong. God has given us so many gifts to share with those whom God will draw to our midst. I am very much looking forward to seeing how our future in God’s Kingdom unfolds here at St. Michael’s.
It’s a joy to share the journey with you. Alleluia!
